Who can Participate?
Hospitals; health care facilities; health systems; and health, professional and academic organizations (GGHH members and non-members) that sign the 2020 Health Care Climate Challenge pledge can participate in the 2020 Challenge.
Many of the initial participants have set ambitious mitigation targets of 30% or more carbon reduction by 2020. Yet all hospitals, health centers and health systems from everywhere in the world are encouraged to participate and help foster climate smart, low carbon care.
If you are not a GGHH member and agree to participate in the challenge by signing the 2020 pledge, your institution will receive an automatic membership in GGHH, and with it, access to tools and resources, including our online collaboration platform, GGHH Connect, and Hippocrates Data Center.
Non-members joining GGHH through the 2020 Challenge will be required to submit a letter of intent to join the network before being accepted.

Are you up to the Challenge? Sign the Pledge!
To sign up for the 2020 Health Care Climate Challenge an authorized person from a hospital, health center, health system or group of hospitals needs to sign the official 2020 Challenge pledge.
Once the pledge is received, the organization will be notified within 5-7 business days of their approval and entry into the Challenge. The organization will also receive a welcome pack and information on how to get started.
Each year, 2020 Challenge participants are also eligible to compete for Health Care Climate Awards, which recognize leaders globally, by region, and for each of the three pillars.
