GGHH, Cisco Systems and the Skoll Foundation are working in partnership to develop GGHH Connect, a Cisco powered internet platform that combines social networking, content creation, and integrated real-time communications to enable GGHH members around the world to connect, share, and work together to achieve their sustainability goals. More information on this project will be available soon.
One of the ten Global Green and Health Hospitals goals is to substitute chemicals with safer alternatives. A top action item under this goal is to substitute mercury-based thermometers and blood pressure devices with accurate, affordable alternatives. Thousands of hospitals around the world— many members of GGHH– have already made the switch and more are doing so every day.
On 27th November, GGHH Founding Members, the National Institute of Pediatrics, the Mexican Network of Pediatric Hospitals, together with HCWH partner organization the Center for Analysis and Action on Toxics and Alternatives organized the first Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Meeting in the country. Representatives from more than 12 different national hospitals along with the Mexico City Ministry of Health participated in this event.
