In May of 2015. GGHH reached a major milestone: 500 members! Since launching in 2011, the initiative has grown by leaps and bounds to 527 members (Hospitals, Health Care Facilities, Health Systems and Health, Professional and Academic Organizations) representing the interests of more than 12,500 Hospitals and Health Centers from 32 countries.
The Mexican Network of Pediatric Hospitals for Quality (Red mexicana de hospitales pediátricos por la calidad) signed a letter of adherrence announcing that all of their hospitals will soon join Global Green and Healthy Hospitals. The commitment was made during the First International Congress of Quality in Health, that occurred on May 28th – 30th at the Hospital del Niño DIF in Hidalgo, Mexico.
GGHH Latin America is hosting a series of new, free webinars (in Spanish) for 2015. On May 20th, the training session focused on transforming hospital organic waste into ecologically sustainable food baskets. The webinar included presenters from Brazil and was carried out both in Spanish and Portuguese simultaneously.
