In celebration of Zero Waste Month in the Philippines, which takes place every January, Health Care Without Harm – Asia, through the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals program, participated in a series of activities and events to promote and educate the public on sustainable waste practices.

The first event was a 3-Day Ecowaste Management Exhibit led by the Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Quezon City. The second was the Zero Waste Conference and Fair 2018 led by the Ecowaste Coalition. Both events aimed to educate the public that aside from advancing Zero Waste Cities, it is also important to include sustainable health care waste management in the narrative for a genuine waste solution. They were organized in collaboration with Ecowaste Coalition, GAIA Asia Pacific and Mother Earth Foundation.
